Third Week Of EIP

Third Week Of EIP

For this week, I have learned about the chapter is Audience and Purpose. By learning all this what you can get?
  • Able to define the term of Audience and Purpose
  • Able to identify the Audience and Purpose
  • Able to understand Rhetorical Triangle
Audience
Definition: An author's audience is the particular group of readers or viewers that the writer is addressing.

The 2 main factors that need to be considered are who is it for and what do you know about them?
They are 4 types of audience:
  • Yourself - no need so formalities and you can write what you want, just for yourself.
  • Personal friends - good idea of how much detail is necessary and can be informal.
  • Person - reasonable idea of how much detail is necessary and reasonably formal style.
  • Remote audience -writing must always be explicit and is likely to be formal.
Who is the Audience? There is two audience which are:
  • Primary Audiences - The readers for whom your document is primarily intended.
  • Secondary Audiences - other readers who may have reason to read part or all your document
Purpose
Definition: An author's  purpose is his or her main reason for writing.

The main consideration factor for the purpose is who is this for? All authors write for a reason. Authors write for one of four reasons to describe, entertain, explain and persuade.
  • Describe - details about a person, place, and thing.
  • Entertain - enjoyable to read, tells a personal story or uses a story to teach a lesson.
  • Explain - provides facts about a particular subject or tells readers how to do something.
  • Persuade - tries to get readers to do something, buy something or believe something.
This is when communicating you need to consider the three classes which are:
  • Ethos - Building trust by establishing your credibility and authority. (Writer)
  • Pathos - Appealing to emotion by connecting with your audience through their values and interests. (Audience)
  • Logos - Appeal to intelligence with well - constructed and clearly argued ideas.(Context)
So that all from me and I will keep continuing to improve my English and learn more news words from it.
Thank You and Have A Nice Day!!

Awesome Learning Time!!

First Week Of EIP

Hi again my name is Edmund Wong. So for this week what I have learned from English Writing( Chapter 1) are the ABC which are Accessible, Basic and Clear, the second thing that I know is the definition of writing which we need to communicate specific information or ideas, utilizing the formats, language, and content to a things so that we can use is wisely. More, I also know the writing process which is the 5 steps that are prewriting-drafting-revising-editing-publishing, this is the following order to have a correct writing process. The last one that I know is the Good Writing and the Poor Writing so how we differentiate the two categories. For the Good Writing let me give some example is need to be focus, organization and solid development and for the Poor Writing are grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and repeated contents.

For the tutorial, Ms.Thinessha ask us to write a poem about "LOVE", then we were separated into a group and each group represents 1 person to read out the poem. On that, we had learned one thing that Family Love Is Blessed. Lastly, I'm feeling incredible and I will keep continue to improve my English!!

THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY!!

ENGLISH IS AWESOME!
